Telnetting to the bash prompt over Ethernet?

If I've got my Tecra 8000 up and running (RH9), and I want I should access the shell prompt (the one I get to by picking System Tools >> Terminal from the RedHat menu) from a telnet client on my Macintosh in the same LAN, can I do that? What do I need to configure to make that possible?
