telnet mx1.hotmail.com 25 working from everywhere, but my laptop?
 

Hi,

I can telnet mx1.hotmail.com 25 from all other machines, apart from my newly installed ubuntu 9.10 laptop.

I just installed exim4 and mailx and set in /etc/exim4/update-exim4.conf.conf:
dc_eximconfig_configtype='internet'

But I can't send mail cause telnet mx1.hotmail.com 25 doesn't work. I can ping mx1.hotmail.com just fine.

Any ideas?

Is it possible, that you have some sort of firewall in place or your ISP is blocking connections to port 25? Use wireshark to find out.

Nar, as it was working fine before my fresh install of Ubuntu 9.10
