tcpdump as other user than root?

Hi,

i noticed that tcpdump, ethereal and etherape only work when i am logged in as root. When i try to run the programms with another user i get errors like "no suitable device found".
Is there a way to get the programms run for the other users too?
Do i have to give them special rights, or is there really no other solution than being logged in as root?

You could set the scripts setuid or set up sudo:
man sudo

nice, this worked for me
Can you also tell me how i can avoid that sudo asks for the password?
I dont want that the user has to enter it always when the timestamp ends, can i put the password into a file or is there an option i can set?

//Edit: Ahh found it out. Thanks alot for your help!
