system-config-network-gui does not save IP information

Hello,

I'm running CentOS 5.3 and I am trying to set a static IP address. I am logged in as root.

When I go Administration > Network I select the only active ethernet adapter (eth0).

I change the IP address from DHCP to a static address and then click OK which takes me back to the Network Configuration screen.
Just to be sure I click File > Save and get a warning about restarting networking services.

If I then edit the interface I just set all my changes are lost, I just can't seem to make it 'stick'.

What's going on?

After you've made the changes, check out this file to see if the setting are being saved.
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0

Try doing it with the text ui version of the tool.
# neat-tui

If the tui version works, but not gui version. it might a bug or the GUI version is broken somehow.
Try checking for any updates. Otherwise, try reinstalling the tool.
