syncing two IMAP servers

Hello all!!

I need to sync two imap servers. Basically, its like this. I'd like to have an IMAP server on my local network which periodically syncs with a remote IMAP server on the internet.

Why I'd like to do this is three fold:

1) If lots of people have to get mail from the same account, say projects@mydomain.com. then they don't have to connect to the internet from the office network - they can connect to the local IMAP server which saves me internet bandwidth cost and increases speed.

2)People can connect to the local sever at the office instead of the one on the internet saving a big bandwidth jam every morning.

3)The old reason for using IMAP - it doesn't matter whether you're in office or at home. You still see the same mail, no matter from which computer.

So it seems to me that syncing two IMAP servers is the best option. I've heard of some options, like Mailsync, offlineimap, imapsync, imapxfer etc. I was using fetchmail for this - but it won't work for syncing the servers

Does anyone have any experiences to share regarding these?? Any inputs will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!
