syncing directories over ftp (console)

Hi,

I have FTP access to a file-server on the university. I want to synchronize my files between my local hard-drive (at home) and my share (at university)

So the question is: Is there a command-line tool that does the following:
  • copy over all files that changed from here to univ
  • or the other way around, depending on what I want it to do
  • Allow excludes (preferable regex or bash-wildcard like)
  • all over FTP access
or do I need to write my own thing?
