synchronizing My Documents with home - advisable?

I found a way to link My Documents to a user's home directory on my Linux server...
Right click on My Documents and set the terget to \\servername\userhome
Many of you might have known this, but i have just found out today!

Anyway, is it advisable to do so?
Because I noticed that a "synchronization window" pops out every time I logon and logoff the server...
Or is it better to just educate the users to save their work in their respective home directory?

Also, anybody knows what the text i got from /var/log/messages mean?

get_domain_user_groups: primary gid of user [user1] is not a Domain group !
get_domain_user_groups: You should fix it, NT doesn't like that

error is because you haven't defined domain groups and added users to it. it is mostly an info error

if your server is backed up and the desktops aren't it is a good idea

Fixed that with net groupmap add~ :)

Thanks again for the reply! :D

Oh, do you know where i can get more info on XP's Group Policy?

since samba is technically an NT domain, it may be best to just make local policies, more work to create and maintain but i don't know how to do it with samba, that doesn't mean it can't be done

quick edit:
i just did a google search for 'samba policies on xp' and found this doc from samba.
it might help
