swat

can someone please help me with getting SWAT running. I am running redhat 7. I have the swat 901/tcp in services. and in the etc/xinetd.d/swat file, i changed the line to disable=no. when i start up netscape and type in http://localhost:901 i just get network error broken pipe. I also tried to just use the ip address of my redhat box (192.168.97.2) i also put it in the hosts allow file. Is there something i'm missing? thanks

From what I have seen, xinetd is not very well documented. At least, I cant seem to find any GOOD material on the daemon.

You might want to install inetd in order to configure Samba and SWAT.
You can supposedly run both at the same time as long as you dont run the same services on each. Basically, it wouldnt hurt to put inetd on your system at least to get Samba and SWAT running initially. You can always go back and mess with xinetd if you need more security.

If you do decided on using inetd, I can help for sure and would be gald to do it!
