Swat

How do I start the SWAT Samba configuration? I thought that it was localhost:901, but that doesn't want to work.

Thanks

use "chkconfig" to enable it to start at boot then:
/etc/init.d/swat start

sorry I missed that fact that you were using slack I don;t think chkconfig is installed. You will need to create an approprite rc.d entry.

Try doing tis: pico /etc/inetd.conf

Look for & uncomment these 3 lines:

netbios-ssn stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/smbd smbd
netbios-ns dgram udp wait root /usr/sbin/nmbd nmbd
swat stream tcp nowait.400 root /usr/sbin/swat swat

Once ur done, save the buffer & type: inetd restart

If ur still having trouble getting SWAT to work properly, reboot ur comp...init 6 or shutdown -r now
