[SOLVED] SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Secondary IP not see from other computers

I have a SLES11 server with 1 NIC, I have bound a second IP address to the NIC through YaST - LAN.

I can ping both the Primary and Secondary IP addresses from the local server.

I can ping the Primary IP address from another computer on the LAN, but I can't ping the secondary IP address.

I have tried to remove\add the NIC configuration in YaST - LAN but get the same results.

The firewall is disable

Please assist with this issue.

You can try to add it manually, adding IPADDR_2 = 'xx.xx.xx.xx' to ifcfg-eth0 under /etc/sysconfig/network.

I had also tried that, it didn't work.

I changed the secondary IP to one higher and that worked.

Then I changed it back to what I needed and it didn't work.

I finally removed the secondary IP address from the NIC and just added a second NIC to the server (Virtual machine) and that worked.

Something was definitely getting in the way of the secondary IP address and that specific address.
