SUSE Linux 9.0 looses network after some time?

I have searched the forums but found no answers anyway.

Now I'm running SuSE Linux on a laptop with a PCMCIA 3Com 3C589D-COMBO card.

When it boots there is always a network connection. I can get on the internet, the lan and see the linux from my WinXP PC's. But sometimes the linux simply looses all network connections. Sometimes I can get it running simply by taking the card out and putting it back again.

It seems like some sort of timeout. The network connection lamp on the card keeps flashing also when it looses the network. So I don't think it'a a power off.

Can someone please help me on this?

Thanks in advance!

Dr. Fresh

"It seems like some sort of timeout."

If you are using wvdial then check /etc/wvdial for a timeout parameter. Timeouts are popular in Europe where they have phone metering. Maybe SuSE set a timeout in wvdial.conf.
