I have been using mandrake 10.0. and have now installed Suse 9.2. However, I have been unsuccessfully with getting the internet configuration to work. When Mandrake was first installed, all that was needed to finish the config was to fill in firewall, and default gateway information. With Suse this same information has been filled out but to no avail. The network that I am trying to get onto is a DHCP type configuration and it seems as though the hardware is recognizing the network, however it is not able to receive an IP from the servers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
are you using yast2?
Do you want to have dhcped address or static? Try with static first to see if you can ping the dhcp server first. Then use yast2 to set address of your iface to dhcped. If the dhcp server is correctly configured you should get ip, gateway and dns info.
I have all the information i.e. DNS, gateway, wins, Subnet, Firewall etc etc. Even with this information entered, it still doesnt work. I have Yast2 also.
