Suse 9.1 DWL-G520 config questions

I recently bought a DWL-G520, and was told by a friend that it would work under linux (and verified upon further research) using the drivers provided by madwifi. However, to my suprise, after installing Suse 9.1 Professional, it was already recognized... which brings me to my questions:

1. Does anyone know if Suse uses madwifi drivers or the like?

2. How do you configure this card for wireless inernet connectivity? If I turn off WEP key encryption, I can connect. But, of course, I want my network (and connection) secure...
