Suse 10 modem problem


Hello,

i have a problem with configing my modem in suse 10 when I go to Query modem in kppp it gives me a mesage "unable to open modem" i have an old hardware modem and in works good in windows but i simply canīt get it to work in linux.

From the command line, try 'hwinfo --modem' to see if it's detected. The output may help you get it set up.

Is it an external modem on a serial port? Go into YAST -> Network -> Modem and look what it says there...
