Suse 10.2 + 2WIRE DSL = 0

Hello all,

Are there any *simple* instructions on how to configure the network (through YAST preferably) so that it will work with this Gateway 2WIRE router/modem?

When pinging the hostname of the machine, I need to get 192.168.x.x as a response.

So, when doing
"ping scar"

I need to get that it is associated with
192.168.x.x

--- AND NOT ---

127.0.0.2

Please help :-(

TIA

try creating an entry in /etc/hosts

try adding the following to the end of your /etc/hosts file:

192.168.x.x scar.fully_qualified_domain_name scar
