Make sure your network is setup without any name conflicts between names used by Windows and by UNIX name resolution'

Try using the IP address of the computer with the shared folders instead.

Hi pdeman2,
1st thank you for your reply. 2nd, Now i got another message, When I try to access 1s machine (winxp - workgroup) through samba shares. network folders + smb share it says 'Timeout on server workgroup'.
There is no place to use IP, what i use :
setup a home or small office net work in winxp machine 1st machine and share the folder to be shared that's all.

I mean to use the IP on the client machine. Open your file manager and in the address bar, typ smb://<ip address>/

The IP address should be the address of the Windows machine. I have had issues using Windows workgroups and stuff before with Linux. Using IP addresses instead should solve the issue.
