Streaming media files between FC5 and XP

I have FC5 on my laptop, and XP on my desktop. I can see my music and movie folder on my desktop and can transfers file in between. How can I stream my music and movies from my desktop to my laptop.

Thanks

I'm not quite sure I get what you are asking. If you can see the movie and music files, can't you play them as you normally would?

Like with xp to xp I can stream my movies and music between the two computers. With Fedora I have to transfer the mp3 or avi from my xp machine to my laptop with Fedora 5. I was wondering if there is a way to stream between FC5 and xp.

Basically you want to mount the XP drive on your FC5 box. That would allow FC to see the files, just like they were copied over. That said, I don't have any experience in mounting remote NTFS drives on a Linux box although I would bet that it would be done through Samba. I did find this howto by doing a little googling.

Since this is more of a general networking question than a wireless one, I'm going to ask the mods to move the thread and hopefully someone who has done this will see it.
