strange traceroute result
hi everyone!! i have this strange result when one day i did a traceroute to any site in the internet.. im not that good at networking that's why i am asking for your help.. here is one of the outputs of my traceroute..
traceroute to test.com (xxx.xx.xx.x), 30 hops max, 38 byte packets
1 192.168.3.1 (192.168.3.1) 0.307 ms 0.311 ms 0.260 ms
2 xxx.x.x.66 54.945 ms 40.022 ms 84.445 ms
3 xxx.xx.xx.206 66.659 ms 69.412 ms 94.406 ms
4 xxx.xx.xx.206 59.573 ms 68.398 ms 93.324 ms
5 test.com 44.484 ms 64.654 ms 67.430 ms
in this output.. as what i have understand, the first hop is my router ip, the 2nd is the gateway provided by my ISP.. the 3rd and the 4th i
believe are IPs that belong to my ISP.. but what make it strange is that, these 2 hops(the 3rd and 4th) are the same or identical.. will it not cause my connection to have some trouble.. as of now my connection is not that stable.. and one more thing is that my gateway(2nd hop) was not really the one i have configured with my router and that adds to my confusion. how could that happen? in my internet life i have not experience strange things like this.. pls help me to clarify things.. thanx!!
