Strange thing in Apache log

Hi everybody,

I keep getting these strange requests in my Apache log:

192.168.10.100 - - [18/Jul/2004:11:41:25 +0200] "GET http://play2.pconline.com.cn/adshow/...0&returnPage=0 HTTP/1.0" 404 310 "-" "-"

Does anybody know what somebody tries to do with this or what the desired result of this should be? Don't look at the IP-address the request came from, it's a little workaround I had to do to be able to host my site.

All information is welcome,

Thanks

Read the security section of this forum.

Let me guess, you are running mandrake right?

Some versions of the mandrake apache package act as an open proxy on port 80.
Looks like someone is using your machine to vote for somthing.

The HTTP/1.0" 404 part also shows that the attempt is not working.

httpd error 404 => requested URL was not found on server

Well spotted drunna. It's someone trying and failing to use the webserver as a proxy.
