Strange problem

After I installed Debian sarge, the next two boot-ups configured my network connection just fine using DHCP. The third time I booted, DHCPDISCOVER got no offer so I had to manually configure the connection. I ran a dpgk-reconfigure etherconf...it went fine. After that I decided to remove etherconf (and resolvconf) from the system. The problem is that everytime I reboot, the file /etc/resolv.conf is actually a link to a resolv.conf file located elsewhere, and the network connection won't work except for pinging local addresses.
Therefore I have to edit each time I boot the /etc/resolv.conf file and insert there my LAN's nameserver.

Any idea how can I get rid of this?
