strange networking issues in mandrake 9.1
i've ben using linux for about a year now, i'm comfortable with it, but i'm still rather newbie-ish.
I just installed Mandrake 9.1 on my Compaq laptop. I've been able to configure it to use my wifi card on our network.
I'm having problems accesing network hares on my computer. I've used samba before and it worked just fine, but i've gone through the settings and i cant quite figure out what's going wrong.
Now here's the kicker. xsmbrowser and linneighborhood can only see my computer. Now if i go to the control center and go to the smb mount points control thingy i can actually see the entire network and gain access to any of the open shares.
So either i'm a complete dumb arse and i can't do anything right, Mandrake is using something other than samba to browse our network (If so, what is it, and are there any gui browsers for it) or samba is being odd and how can i fix it?
Has anyone had similar problems or know some way of how to fix it?
