Strange CIFS error, files are not copying properly

This is coming from a cpbackup process. In /var/log/messages, I see the following error:

Code:
Feb 23 17:01:53 my kernel: CIFS VFS: Write2 ret -13, wrote 0
It's all over the place and unfortunately is causing the files to be corrupted on the destination. That means none of my file backups are working properly

I have no idea why this is happening - this used to work without issues.

Any ideas?

I have seen the same types of errors. My users complain of sluggish activity or that the server is locked up completely and only a restart seems to clear it up, for a few days anyway.
I found the following blog and I am just trying now myself.

http://blog.dhampir.no/content/cifs-vfs-no-response-for-cmd-n-mid

I am running RHEL5.3_64bit
kernel = Linux version 2.6.18-194.26.1.el5

hope this helps, this has been very frustrating to pin down.

Janet
