Unhappy static route configuration guide

hello guys,

i am really delighted to see this thread.....but i have a small problem with static routing. i installed clarckconnect 3.0 home edition as a core router for my network with with features of DNSmasq, ip forwarding, Loadbalancing, and static route for the indirect route on the distribution router.

Can anyone kindly assist me on how to populate the static route in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/route-interfacename ........in a step by step guide.i have tried all that i know but the static route disappears anytime i restart the PC.

Can anyone kindly assist me with step by step guide on how to get it done.thanks

Thanking you for your quick response.

Best Regards

Hi,

if the static routes disappear when you reboot, then you're not editing the right config file.
What distribution do you run ? (conf files may change between 2 distro)

static route still not working

i was told that the commercial software is based on fedora core 2. can anyone assist me the guide to configure static routes. Beside will the indirect route only appear in the roputing table if the next hop gateway is on ???? i just feel i have nothing left apart from the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/route-devicename issue

If you add your routing commands to the end of rc.local they will take effect each time the system starts.
