Starting wlan0 instead of eth0

i am running suse 8.2 with the wpc11 wireless card, i had no problem getting it to work, but everytime i reboot the computer i have to issue the commands
ifconfig eth0 down
ifconfig wlano up
dhcpcd wlan0

how can i set the system up so it will load wlan0 at start up?
any help is appreciated

Sorry, I don't have suse installed on anything yet, but if suse has an rc.local somewhere in or under /etc/rc.d, you could add those lines to the end of that file, which is one way to do it.

It has been a while since I used Suse.
I would think there might be a boot up configuration tool in YAST somewhere.
