stackexchange freezing my browser

When looking on the Internet to find a solution to a computer problem, a lot of questions seem to be directed to stackexchange. For the past few days, I have had numerous times a screen appearing from their website when clicking a link and the browser freezes as every pixel of that screen seems to be clickable but nothing happens and only killing the (process) browser fixes the problem.
It seems they have a big problem but I am posting this in case I miss something and the problem is at my end. It is very frustrating to have to ensure that the link one is about to click is not theirs and only the links to their site do that.

Any comment? Has anyone else experienced the same problem?

Thank you for your help

i'm looking at a stackexchange page right now and there's no problem.

disable javascript.

you can use noscript, or if that is inconvenient, use yesscript.
