sshfs: connection break freezes the mountpoint

I work with remote directories using sshfs:

Code:
$ sshfs server:/home/myuser ~/mnt/beta
This mounts my remote home directory to ~/mnt/beta locally.

Here is the sshfs version I use:

Code:
$ sshfs --version
SSHFS version 2.5
FUSE library version: 2.9.5
fusermount version: 2.9.5
using FUSE kernel interface version 7.19
It works fine. But when the Internet connection breaks (router freezes) and there are open files any attempt to reconnect freezes the program that tries to reconnect.

It freezes Emacs, and even after I kill it, nothing except of reboot helps.

What can I do?
