ssh on at all times?
New to networking. Running MDV 2005LE with KDE 3.3.2 on each of 2 PCs connected thru ethernet hub, with PC1 as the gateway thru another nic to DSL. Have setup internet sharing in MCC and file sharing using sftp thru Konqueror.
Anyway, when I install themes or software on PC2, I find that it appears on PC1 as well, even though I am certain that the PCs are NOT logged onto each other thru ssh. Any ideas what I am missing. I do have internet sharing enabled on PC1 which is the gateway. Could this be how the themes or software is "transferred" to the other PC1 when it is not intended?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

 I've never seen this problem before.
How do you install software.
Does PC2 work when PC1 is not turned on ( except Internet), and the other way around.

ssh on?
PC2/eth0 ->hub<-eth1PC1eth0->DSL->net
Generally install software thru MCC update or mains. Specifically, MDV 10.2 did not come with Koffice. Also dwnloaded Nvu web editor and Krusader desktop file mgr.
PC2 does not have 'net connection unless PC1 is on. Now that I have had time to inspect more closesly, I installed an icon theme on PC2 (thru PC1 which is the gateway) but at no time did I have either PC logged on to my home network via ssh. This morning, I noticed that PC1 also has the icon theme and I know I did NOT install it intentionally there. My only suspicion is internet sharing, but how or why?
Any ideas?
Thanks

you said you are using stfp?
so are you dowloading files to PC1, then trasfering them to PC2 or are you downloading to PC2 directly?
Are you running Rsync or any other type of file synchronization?
if not call a priest
