ssh connection refused for external IP's
I've searched around the forums here and can't find an answer to my particular problem: ssh connects to my linux box from anywhere in the local network (192.168.0.*), but fails from any external IP.
I've put a clean install of Mandrake 10.1 on my linux box. Security level is set to Higher. I've temporarily turned off the firewall. My hosts.allow file is
sshd: ALL
My hosts.deny is
ALL:ALL EXCEPT 127.0.0.1:DENY
Port forwarding on the switcher to the linux box is working.
Error from ssh on the external machine trying to connect to my linux box (I've sensored my IP):
ssh -v [x.x.x.x]
OpenSSH_3.6.1p2, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0x0090701f
debug1: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh/ssh_config

debug1: connect to address [x.x.x.x] port 22: Connection refused
ssh: connect to host [x.x.x.x] port 22: Connection refused
Any advice?
