Reading it backward is actually more informative.
At post number 30 one may discover you had communicated with the "Frugalware developer" before starting this thread.

At post number 24 we discover you are able to ssh into Frugalware on one computer.

At post number 19 one may discover you are using multiple computers with no explanation of the network setup.

At post number 16 one may discover you neglected to give the reason for starting this thread was that Frugalware booted with a "frozen mouse" on 2 or all(?) of your computers and that you can't get any prompt at all from the failed boot of Frugalware.

At post number 1 one may discover a question about booting between 2 live distributions with no mention of multiple computers on an unknown network when the intention is actually troubleshooting a failed boot of Frugalware.

I have two machines and boot them with various live distros (one at the time ), but when I try to connect with ssh, I seem to invariably get "ssh: <whatever>: Name or service not known".
So your original question of "Is an ssh connection possible between 2 live distros" is solved by your post number 24 but then you have put the live CD into another computer. So one works fine to ssh to Frugalware, one gives an "unworkable IP" and one fails to boot?

One might guess the computer that gives the "unworkable IP" is the computer connected directly to the internet while the one that works is connected to your home network.

I actually did read the thread and posted suggestions to boot a problematic distribution which, of course, you had already tried.

I really do not want to discourage anyone from contributing to troubleshooting, but do you see how confusing this is for all who attempted to respond to your thread.

The thread seems to be about connecting 2 live distributions which was solved but then after that fact the issue of the failed boot on possibly problematic hardware is brought up and you wipe your hands of the whole thing.

If I posted a thread like this and you responded but my reply was to ask you to put up or shut up, what would you think?

I readily admit that this whole thread has been/is confusing and I take the blame for that. As a newbie, this whole mess has been a learning experience for me.

Wipe my hands? I was frustrated when it turned out that the Frugalware live distro did not get a workable IP address - hence my remark about what happens when I wanted to give something back. I was also frustrated about the developer, who just disappeared when I told him about the missing workable IP address. You can see the entire communication between him and myself if you go to Frugalware's fora, if the thread is still there.

Furthermore, ssh'ing between two live distros is *not* solved as far as I am concerned - I never managed to make it work. However, I believe you if you say it is possible. What I did succeed in here, was a ssh connection between my *installed* system and a live distro, including the Frugalware distro, but Frugalware failed to get a correct IP address on one of my two computers, i.e. the computer the developer wanted Frugalware to be tested on and have a (live) Xorg.0.log from. I was and am out of ideas as to how this can be solved.

Look again at the post I was replying to. Also note that I had already said in two posts that I was not interested in pursuing this matter any further. However, as I said, I take the full blame for all possible confusion and I am sorry if you felt snubbed.
