Lightbulb SquirrelMail SendMail IMAP RedHat9

Hello all,

Can anyone tell me the IMAP server come with RH9 installation is courier-imap or UW IMAP?

I am able to get sendmail and IMAP server working. By mean that my client can use Outlook Express accessing mail on my RH9.

Anyone can help my with quick instruction to turn on SquirrelMail so my client can check mail via browser. Is your apache need to run PHP inorder for SquirrelMail to work? By default apache come with RH9 can or cannot run PHP?

Thanks for all.

It is UW IMAP by default - try this the version may be different though:
rpm -qi imap-2001a-18

You need php for squirelmail to work - just install the php rpm the restart httpd.

Squirelmail is easy - just run the conf script, set a few general options and select UW IMAP as the server type.

the conf script is called "conf.pl" and is located in the directory where you install squirrelmail.

Yeah if you installed apache from the cd - just install php from the cd.

The default http address will be the address of your webserver - remember that your squirrelmail php pages will need to be in your webserver's DocumentRoot

David,

Forgive me but my next question is. Where is the default installation directory of SM in RH9. Exactly where Conf.pl live in Default RH9 installation.

Once again thanks so much. I will try it as soon as I got to work this Monday.

There isn't necesarily a default directory - just run a find on your system. If you used an rpm then try:
rpm -ql squirrelmail
