squirrelmail pop/imap? issues
Hey all.
Not sure if this question belongs here - but it's a networking/mail protocols issue .
If I read an email using POP3 on a mail client and leave it on my mail server - then when I use squirrelmail to access it from somewhere else, it shows that the mail is still unread (i.e, displayed in bold). Which I thought makes sense, as that's the way POP3 works.
If I used IMAP, then if the message header was downloaded and the message read on a client, then if I later used squirrelmail, it would show that the relevant email as read (i.e., not in bold).
However, someone showed me another webmail interface - used by sbc-yahoo - where even though they only serve POP on their mailserver, if mail has been read on a mail client with a copy left on server it shows as "read" when viewed through the webmail interface.
Any ideas how to implement this in squirrelmail? Does Horde or anything else allow this? And no, people just don't want to use IMAP - don't ask me why.....
Thanks,
