Squirrelmail or Sqwebmail?

What is the best one in terms of reliability and security?
I have a Red Hat 8.0 box with Apache 1.3.2x and PHP 4.2.x and I want to install qmail 1.03 e-mail sever with a webmail.
Which one should I prefer?
Squirrelmail or Sqwebmail?
What is your experience about these one?
Is there a simple (updated) guide to install everything in a simple way?
Is there any installer for these packages on RH 8?
I'm a bit newbie so excuse me if my question is too silly.

Many thanks to you all in advance.

Zingaro2002.

I have not tried Sqwebmail. I did have squirrelmail for a few months. It is secure if your webserver is secure.

I would not allow imap access other than localhost. unless it's secure imap.

you could still have secure pop server as an alternative. But you need a secure smtp server if your going to support something other than webmail.

If your going webmail all the way I think it can be very secure. I would only run it on https

I have recently switched to openwebmail

http://openwebmail.org/

Squirrelmail had a lot of bugs in it, things that were not quite right. It's just not any comparison to openwebmail

Check it out!

Thanks for your suggestion... but I said I'd like to use qmail e-mail server and openwebmail doesn't support it.

Thank you anyway.

1) search webmail at sourceforge
2) learn all you can about qmail and write the code in squirrelmail to make them play nice.

i'm pretty much out of ideas.

Thank you David but I read in the faq (http://openwebmail.org/openwebmail/doc/faq.txt):
**********************************************
Q: Does Open WebMail support maildir and vpop3mail user by Qmail?
A: No, It doesn't.

Q: Will Open WebMail support maildir and vpop3mail used by Qmail?
A: Maybe, but it won't be implemented in the near future since we don't use qmail on our mail server. It is said that qmail has a 'mbox' compatible mode, you may use that mode with openwebmail.
**********************************************
And I said that I'd like to go on using qmail since I have a lot of users with qmail-Maildirs on my system.
So...
what about Squirrelmail? You said you used it. What is your opinion?

Any other opinion??

Yes, that's what I meant, you need to try squirrelmail. It worked for me.
