Dear all

I downloaded the squidguard tar, and when i configure it is asking the db. I downloaded the db also. but i didn't get how to install db (berekeley). please guide me how to compile and install squidguard and db. I hope u people can help me out.

hi hariiyer,
what distro are you using? download the berkeley-db- .rpm-file!
a good source is

in your squid.conf add/edit :
redirect_program /usr/local/bin/squidGuard -c /etc/squid/squidguard.conf

hai iam using RH9 with squid. Squid is running fine, and iam trying to install squidguard. iam getting these errors. please help me

[root@hari squidGuard-1.1.3]# ./configure

checking for lynx... /usr/bin/lynx
checking for perl... /usr/bin/perl
checking for db_version in -ldb... no

** The Berkley DB library is required for squidGuard
to compile. Get it from
use --with-db=DIR or --with-db-lib=DIR to specify
its location. (default is /usr/local/BerkeleyDB)

RedHat does have a Berkeley db rpm (db4 actually).

try 'rpm -ivh' (without the surrounding quotes).

It should help.. If you don't know if it is already installed: 'rpm -q db4'

another option is installing rpms of squidguard
