So trying to get a Squid Proxy setup at the office, I feel like what I'm trying to do should be pretty straight forward, but it's just not working. I'm hoping maybe the greater forum population might know what I'm doing wrong.

Basic rundown of our current networking setup.

Modem -> Firewall -> Switch -> 3 VLANs (Workstations, Servers, Management).

Most of our servers run on Hyper-V.

Here is where I need to setup a squid proxy. We are trying to add the following

Modem -> Separate NIC on Firewall -> "All-in-one" Proxy Device -> Dual vNIC Hyper-V Squid VM

The goal was to push a browser to the end users pre-configured to use the Squid Proxy server and push traffic from that browser through this "all-in-one" proxy device for anonymous browsing/research. I've got the Squid Proxy setup with two NICs one that is connected to the internal network Server VLAN and one that is connected to this "blackbox" all-in-one device. The all-in-one device is preconfigured with certain DNS servers, gateway IP, etc. I want to setup the Squid Proxy basically to bring traffic IN via the internal network and OUT through the All-in-one device. But it just doesn't seem to be working. I thought I should be able to set the All-in-one device as the gateway but I'm obviously missing something.

Thoughts? If I'm missing some important info, let me know.

If it's a squid proxy, all you should care about is that the squid server is able to surf the web. If that's the case, computers that be set up to use the squid server as their proxy would have no problem browsing (provided squid is correctly configured to allow those boxes to navigate and stuff).

And by saying that you will use squid we are talking about using the squid server as a http/https proxy, right? Not a 'nat' proxy, right?
