squid problem...


how i can limit download rate with squid ?
please help me i need it very much ...

Dunno if squid can do it... try the Linux traffic shaping. http://lartc.org

Yes you can. It is done with "delay pools". Search on the squid.conf file on the section "delay pools" and read it so you can understand it.

I just added 3 lines to my squid.conf and everything passing through my proxy is limited to a 128Kb connection (it has a 512Kb but I just want to share a 128Kb)

delay_pools 1
delay_class 1 2
delay_parameters 1 -1/-1 16000/16000

I find squid is better for fishing off peirs and not for using with you system. it is smells bad and soon ppl wont want to be around you
