Squid problem.
I have SuSEFirewall2 - Apache2 - Squid - Samba running on my Linux PC.
I also have Squidguard running as the Suse Linux box acts as my router for my home network that has 3 PCs' sitting "behind" it. I have IP forwarding on. Going in sysconfig (and the firewall set up) it would appear that I have opened ports 139 3128 80 8080 (amongst others) I have a registered domain name. That I update via dyndns.org with ddclient. All services appear started and running in runlevel. Everyone can get on the web on the network. Here's my issues*: (*This is one of those things where it has worked now it doesn't) I can't raise the website address - via the domain name or by directly keying in the IP address. Samba is not working (was before) ...and a test of a website I would assume to be blocked by squidguard fails to do so. So I'm trying to dig in where I've taken a misstep - I think something is wrong in squid & squidguard - but then again it might be in the firewall. |

I did a bit more looking into Squid - it turns out that I had to go into the squid.conf file and take the comment # off some of the settings - this has allowed me to get on the website from a browser on the linux pc -
but when I go to another PC and call up the website www.40ths.com - it sees the IP - BUT - the site does not load. thoughts? |
