Squid not starting using pppd/wvdial (RedHat)

I'm using RedHat 9 out of the box (pppd 2.4.1). I've got dial on demand working OK (so far so good), but squid won't start until the dialup connection is live.

No big surprises here, I guess it can't get to the cache_peer, but it's annoying having to start squid manually when everything else is happening automatically.

Any ideas? TIA
