squid is failing to forward requests to parent proxy
 

I have configured squid according to my requirements. As already my network is proxy enabled I need forward the requests to the other one. For this I have added the following lines to the squid.conf

cache_peer parentproxy 3128 0 default no-digest login=PASS
always_direct never allow


Here my parent proxy needs authentication and squid doesn't need. I configure my browser with squid, with direct connections it was working fine. but after adding the above lines it kept on popping out the window for uname and password. I have even tried giving uname and password in squid.conf file with "login=uname:passwd ". Still it didn't work.
Any idea of how to solve this? I have gone through the squid website and posted in those mailing lists but it was of no use.
