Squid -D process

I run Squid2.5 Stable1 built from RH 9.0. I use webmin to control it. Under Webmin-->Running process-->Memory, I see one process that is "squid -D" which took me around 190MB of RAM. When I kill this process, the squid still working fine. As I know squid -D is used to tell squid to ignore DNS test at first startup. I don't want it to ignore DNS test and don't want to lose memory also because my squid is connect to ISP already.

How can I stop it from running after reboot?
