Squid & apache = 100% cpu


Debian 4

Connect to my website https (443)through squid, when I do command top
squid shows 100% cpu.
Why.

what ver os squid are u running?
There is problem with 100% cpu utilisation if /dev/null not exist or squid
don't have right to access it.
Are you swapping?, do you have enough cache space? did you try restarting your cache? what filesystem are you using?
It can be a number of things, but you have to narrow it down by eliminating the obvious, otherwise having squid top 100% can be a result of a myrad of issues.

And what sort of hardware, exactly? What are you doing with Apache web server? (Static pages? Some app?)

Squid & apache = 100% cpu

Squid is running debian 4, swap is 2 GB, filesystem is ext3.

squid have access to /dev/null but should this null file contain some info?

We are accessing our webmail application first through sdquid (gateway) and then to the webmail application that is running on the 2:n machine.
