in transparent proxu u dont have to enter proxy settings in ur browser. for example, to enter proxy settings in Internet Explorer Click Tools, Internet Options,Connections, Lan Settings and Check Use a proxy server and enter proxy server ip and port there. If u configure transparent proxy u don have to enter these settings and the requests goes to proxy transparently.
This is used if u want to force users to use ur proxy.

You come here and make others help you, then you refuse to share the solution.

Please die in a fire,
thank you.

Firstly, the last post in this thread is from over 4 years ago. I hardly think the person in question even knows what the solution was now.

Second, please clean up the language in your last post.

Thanks,

Sasha

Hi,

I was having the same problem trying to access http://blah:1234 through a squid server whith RHEL 5.

The problem was SELinux. I did a setsebool squid_connect_any=on and configured the firewall to allow the port through.

But looking through the forums it seems to be a generic error related to many things, a good way to debug is using wget:

http_proxy=proxy:8080 wget -O /dev/null -S http://blah:1234

Hope this helps, Guillermo
