Squid Access Control

Hi all

I have configured squid and I have 2 subnets to serve the proxy services for, however after writing the access lists when I give a
"service squid status" command I get the following warning
************************
squid (pid 3129 3127) is running.. 2002/09/28 12:51:15| aclParseIpData: WARNING: Netmask masks away part of the specified IP in '192.168.172.1-192.168.172.254/24' 2002/09/28 12:51:15| aclParseIpData: WARNING: Netmask masks away part of the specified IP in '192.168.6.171-192.168.6.254/24'
***********************************************

Am I giving a wrong subnet mask,

aaron,

It is a little hard to guess from the post, can we have the relevant section from the conf file.

My immediate thought however is that the second range has an issue with a netmask. It states that the subnet starts at 192.168.6.171 and uses a mask of /24 which would not end at 192.168.6.254

if this is the subnet you are after you would need a netmask to suit, now
i suck at working out netmasks so I wont embasses myself by giving you the wrong figure, there are calculators and the like about.
