Hi Guys,
There's something I don't understand with SPF records. Let's suppose I have two major domains:
examplegroup.com and examplegroup.net
I have recently moved my mail servers to new place, and their domain name has changed from *.examplegroup.com to *.examplegroup.net.
All domains of the company contain the same SPF record which contains an "include" for the main domain's spf, like so:
Code:
eg.hu domain's SPF:
v=spf1 a mx include:examplegroup.com ~all
also, the examplegroup.com domain referenced there, contains the following SPF:
Code:
examplegroup.com domain's SPF:
v=spf1 a mx mx:www.eg.hu mx:eg.hu a:mail.myprovider.hu ip4:1.2.3.4/24 ?all
Now, my question is: If I want to make sure that mails sent from the new mailing hosts under *.examplegroup.net get sent in compliance to SPF, is it enough for me to just modify the SPF of the above examplegroup.com domain by adding the new examplegroup.net domain and the new servers IP addresses, like so:
Code:
examplegroup.com:
v=spf1 a mx mx:www.eg.hu mx:eg.hu a:mail.myprovider.hu mx:examplegroup.net ip4:1.2.3.4/24 ip4:4.5.6.7/24 ?all
Or am I missing something? Can you please explain to me? Thank you a LOT! :-)
