sound over a local network ??

Anybody out their know how to pipe sound over the network ??

Specifically xmms..

here's what I'm doing... (This is just for fun really.. I have no real reason to do this except to learn)

Two SuSE 7.3 boxes...

box one I put in RunLevel 3 and I do a

X -query Chesty <-Chesty is the name of box 2

My KDE session come up fine and everything works.. except I have now sound from my OS... or any applications.

can you pipe sound also to another workstation and then let the receiving workstations sound card handle the sound ??

hmm I know what you mean, don't know how. Maybe you'd want to get a icecast server running..?
