Thumbs up Solved no network extensions mint 18.1

HP Pavilion x360 Convertable

Intel device 8086:24fb
ifconfig wlan0: no device found
iwconfig: lo no wireless extensions

ifconfig shows:

Wireless wifi is now on strong. Notice wlo1 instead of wlan0

after I Upgraded kernel to 4.10.0-22-generic, and after reboot: instant wifi connections.

A post stated the kernel version needed to be at least 4.6 for intel card.
