Socks proxying WineX?

Hey, I've just gone back to Linux (I do that every few months..) and felt like playing Diablo II since everyone says it works just like in Windows. :P

Anyways, when I played in Windows I used SocksCap to get to the SOCKS server on my local server.. Problem is SocksCap doesn't work to run through WineX.. so I figured I'd have a look around and came across 'proxychains', I set it up to use a static chain with just my 192.168.0.1:1080 in its list.. Seemed to work just fine when I ran up Konqueror through it or a few other things, but whenever I try to connect to Battle.Net it gives me:
"strict chain:....192.168.0.1:1080..broken"
around 8 times, and fails to connect.

Now I know the SOCKS server is up, I tested it several times from Windows computers too and it worked perfectly, I also nmapped it and port 1080 is open. Is there some better program for Socksifying WineX, or am I setting something up wrong?

edit: If I change from strict chain to dynamic chain it claims that it manages to connect.. but it doesn't do anything. :\
