snmpwalk no result and no error

I'm trying to setup MRTG and so I setup first my snmp. The problem is when I'm trying to command "snmpwalk -v 1 -c public localhost", it has no response. There's no error also. This is the first time I encountered this situation. I believe I have to settle this first before I setup my MRTG.

root@localhost]# snmpwalk -v 1 -c public localhost
End of MIB
root@localhost]#

I also edit my snmp.conf coz I always do this before I configure MRTG. I done this before and encountered no problem

Instead of using localhost what happens if you use the IP of the system?
