Snmp Traps

Hi,

I have a monitoring tool which can receive the traps and display it on the dashboard. How can a send traps from a linux server if anything goes wrong on the server. I have seen the snmptrap command but couldnt really understand it. Can anyone explain in detail???

Regards
Magin George.
