I been trying to monitoring linux temperature and traffic on interfaces.
I used nagios XI for implementation and install plug-in NRPE.
but don't have this fixture.
any suggestion or link how i can do it.
thanks.
which bit are you trying to do? There are loads system decent monitoring systems that integrate well with SNMP, E.g. OpenNMS. Nagios is just junk though IMHO.
I've trying to monitor processors temperature using centos and with 2 interfaces.
thanks Chris for your input, I will try openNMS in the staging server to see how powerful.
If you don't mind can to share, what other SNMP tools that you know would be useful.
Well the other usual suspects are Hyperic, Groundwork and a couple of others. If you are able to pay a modest license fee, I also found the Manage Engine products to be very good and nice.
thanks for sharing I'll try all of that, but probably will prefers the open source one.
coz I don't think comp willing to spend cash on that.
so I have to figure it out which one is suitable for the tasks and easy to use.
I finally using dell open mange to monitore CPU temperature...
i've try using lm sensor first time but it not able to detect the cpu temperature..
I read some one post said that, u can't use lm sensor to detect dell server...
so i try the dell open mange and it was successfully and so easy to implement....
But I got some problem, the dell temperature OID it show in 3 digit number instead of 2 digit..
the OID SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.674.10892.1.700.20.1.6.1.1 = INTEGER: 220
in the dell open mange it show 22.0 C and in the OID value it show 220
is it there is any way that i can edit the value in nagiosxi command by / 10 so it would 22 C instead of 220 C.
thanks.
