SMPPPD closing named Service unexpectedly
Hi everyone.
This is more of a general question...
Is it just my computer or will smpppd close the named service on startup?
Every time I boot my SuSE 10.0 linux PC, the DNS is running untill you connect or something. I don't know, everytime I look the DNS is offline somehow.
I have inspected the log files and saw named closing down after smpppd connected to the internet.

The reason I had a DNS in the first place was when I have set up my internet gateway and no Name Resolution took place. After I've set up the DNS it worked. A while later, I discovered this problem and decided to include my ISP's DNS addresses sothat the client PCs at home can use the ISP's DNSs if my DNS server was somehow offline. Now I have disabled my DNS entirely because, what is the point of running a DNS server if it doesn't stay connected and isn't needed. Well you can save some internet traffic that way (I would like that!) but I whish I knew why this happens.

Any replies appreciated!

Does anyone maybe know why named would want to shut down? Maybe it can be taken from there I guess...
